DramaPod is a podcast directory specializing in audio dramas, also known as audio theater. These are similar to the old-time radio shows.
There's a simple list of genres, which probably works well for this limited topic.
It's easy to add a podcast using the form on the web site.

Digital Podcast is a podcast directory.
It has a single level category listing meaning that if the podcast you want to find isn't on the first page you probably aren't going to have the patience to find it. Most of the categories have 20+ pages of podcasts. So Good luck finding what you want.

Digg Podcasts is a user rated listing of podcasts done in the digg.com style.
So, any directory of podcasts where Diggnation is the top choice is obviously questionable. To my eye Diggnation is stupid and obnoxious and a waste of bandwidth. In any case the digg.com style is for the digg.com users to vote for the ones they like best. I suppose digg.com users are going to like Diggnation because of who they are. But this means that you'll find podcasts based on popularity of a group of geeks.

Podcaster Wiki is a general resource site for podcasters.
Blogger and Podcaster bills itself as being for Aspiring New Media Titans. Clearly there are many who think blogging and podcasting represents a new wave where the masses can take ownership of the media. Hmm, okay. But I find it a little curious that for something extolling the virtues of New Media, that they are using an old medium like glossy paper sent through the mail. How 1950's of them.

Podcast Pickle bills themselves as The first podcast and vidcast community.
They carry this disclaimer on their site, which is probably a very important statement for a podcast aggregator to make:
Disclaimer: The views and ideas expressed in the podcasts on this site do not necessarily reflect those of PodcastPickle.com.

SciFiPods is a podcast directory specializing in science fiction oriented podcasts.
Warning: The site contains a lot of graphics, and your initial visit to the site will take a long time to render the page. It seems that subsequent visits are faster due to the graphics already being in your browser cache.
The site contains a forum area for podcasters to chat.
You have to be a user of scifipods to post podcast listings. It appears it is free to do so.

BritCaster specializes in podcasts made by citizens of the UK.
It's a fairly (and surprisingly) short list of shows, the list being contained in the left hand column. There's a strict screening process before your podcast can be listed. Wait, the short list of shows is just the most recently visited ones. It's not clear how to view the whole list of all podcasts they index as there's no overall topic directory.
Each podcast listing shows a listing of the items in that feed. The item has a description clearly coming from the feed.

blawg.com is a legal oriented podcast aggregation network.
They carry a very small number of podcasts, the whole listing fits onto two pages.
One requests to be added to the site using a form on the site. They apparently review and approve listings. The listings that are there are marked with links to "Claim your blog" as if the listings on the site were added without the podcasters making a request. I suspect this is a new site that's still in development.
The listings are simply links, there's no aggregation etc.

audiofeeds.org is a music oriented site. They have a topic list oriented by broad music categories, and that probably works for a music oriented site.
They have a notice saying they'll probably remove the registered user feature. It seems most users are just browsing for feeds rather than doing anything like collecting "favorite" postings. That's an interesting factoid which suggests it's probably not worthwhile allowing users to register.

A Podcast Like That doesn't have a topic directory. Instead you search and it shows you matching podcasts.
Each podcast has its own page, which lists overview, and lists the items in that podcast. The items are presented pretty well, with text taken from the feed.
One nice tweak is they have a "related podcasts" feed which is autogenerated somehow from topics.
