Syncing between Apple's iCal and a Google Calendar

I've been slowly adopting the whole cloud application idea. Y'know, store your data in the cloud and the experts running cloud based services will ensure your data is never lost and your every need will be taken care of by the cloud. Uh.. what about when it rains? Clouds are also the source of storms. It's not a great analogy. However it is a good point that experts running data centers can do a better job of ensuring your data is backed up, than an individual normally does.

Using MAMP for local Drupal development on a Mac

MAMP makes it pretty darn simple to do web development on a Mac. While Mac OS X comes bundled with Apache and PHP, MAMP bundles together the latest versions of both along with MySQL. It "installs a local server environment in a matter of seconds on your Mac OS X computer" and is completely self-contained. You can run MAMP alongside the Apache that's built-in to Mac OS X, you can remove MAMP at any time, etc. It's very convenient and flexible.

Comparing the MacBook with the new 13" MacBookPro

Last week Apple introduced the latest iteration of the MacBookPro and they happily included a 13" model. It's a tempting machine so I want to take a look at the likely happiness inducing features, and it makes for an interesting comparison with the MacBook model. What is it about the MacBookPro which is worth the extra bucks to buy one over the same size MacBook?

Short version is the MBP is a bit faster, can have more memory, and has a built-in SD slot. Seems to me worth the cost.
